Part 1 -- Religions

Defining Religion

Religion is any interaction or relationship or connection with any spirit or any admiration of any doctrine or philosophy or zeal for any belief that is not Perfect like the Holy Scriptures.

Summary

Religion is where counterfeiting doctrines, feelings, and or experiences are substituted in the place of, and in the name of God, (or with the idea of gods), by demons threw humans.

It is important to recognize the inherent involvement of demons when it comes to religion.  For some this is obvious, but to others (depending on exposure and denomination) it still needs to click that religion necessitates demonically anointed ideas actions and beliefs.

Here I am not talking about Jas 1:26-27…

Does the Devil like Religion? Oh, Yes!

● He tried to ascend above the stars of God (Isaiah)

● In Revelation he has the beast worshipped and its image.

● Masquerades as angel of light

Satanic bible says it correctly:

“Satan has been the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!” (Prologue to The Satanic Bible)

WIKI – The Answer of “Political Correctness”

“The anthropologist Clifford Geertz defined religion as a "system of symbols which acts to establish powerful, pervasive, and long-lasting moods and motivations in men by formulating conceptions of a general order of existence and clothing these conceptions with such an aura of factuality that the moods and motivations seem uniquely realistic.”

More Honest Answers

Actually, religion is about convincing people to willingly embrace insanity, not to portray something realistic or believable.

The consistent goal of all religion is to derive pleasure (almost “humorous” pleasure) out of believing irrational and mindless things.

The goal of religion is to incite faith into absurdities.

When people are tricked into acting and behaving in silly ways, religion has fulfilled its goal.

When people finally believe what is ridiculous and obviously fake, then religion has accomplished its lust.

“Sinners Bound to Change Their Own Hearts”

https://www.gospeltruth.net/1836SOIS/01sois_sinners_bound.htm

·

Disobeying “Spirit”

“The term spirit, in the Bible, is used in different senses: it sometimes means a spiritual being, or moral agent; in other places it is used in the sense in which we often employ it in conversation. In speaking of the temper of a man, we say he has a good or bad spirit, a lovely or hateful spirit. It is evidently used in this sense in the text. The term heart is also employed in various senses: sometimes it appears to be used as synonimous[sic.] with soul; sometimes it evidently means the will; sometimes the conscience, sometimes it seems to be used in such an extensive sense, as to cover all the moral movements of the mind; sometimes it expresses the natural or social affections.”

Nor,

    3. Are we required to create any new faculties, of body or mind. We now have all the powers of moral agency; we are just as God made us, and do not need any alteration in the substance of soul or body. Nor,

·          “4. Does it mean that we are to bring to pass any constitutional change in ourselves. We are not required to add to the constitution of our minds or bodies any new principle or taste. Some persons speak of a change of heart as something miraculous--something in which the sinner is to be entirely passive, and for which he is to wait in the use of means, as he would wait for a surgical operation, or an electric shock. We need nothing added to the constitution of our body or mind; nor is it true in experience, that those who have a new heart, have any constitutional alteration of their powers whatever. They are the same identical persons, so far as both body and mind are concerned, that they were before. The alteration lies in the manner in which they are disposed to use, and do actually employ, their moral and physical powers. A constitutional change, either in body or mind, would destroy personal identity. A Christian, or one who has a new heart, would not be the same individual in regard to his powers of moral agency, that he was before--would not be the same agent, and under the same responsibilities.”

Again--a constitutional alteration, and the implantation of a new principle, in the substance of his soul, or diffusing a new taste which is incorporated with, and becomes an essential part of his being, would destroy all the virtue of his obedience. It would make obedience to God a mere gratification of appetite, in which there would be no more real virtue than in eating, when we are hungry, or drinking, when we are thirsty.

The necessary adaptation of the outward motive to the mind, and of the mind to the motive, lies in the powers of moral agency, which every human being possesses. He has understanding to perceive and weigh; he has conscience to decide upon the nature of moral opposites; he has the power and liberty of choice. Now, to this moral agent, possessing these faculties, the motives of the Gospel re-addressed[are addressed--Ed.]; and there is plainly a natural tendency in these weighty consideration to influence him to obey his Maker.

The spiritual heart, is the fountain of spiritual life, is that deep seated but voluntary preference of the mind, which lies back of all its other voluntary affections and emotions, and from which they take their character. In this sense I understand the term heart to be used in the text. It is evidently something over which we have control; something voluntary; something for which we are to blame, and which we are bound to alter!

Indeed the continued holiness of God depends upon the same cause, and flows from the same fountain. His holiness does not consist in the substance of his nature, but in his preference of right. His holiness must be voluntary, and he is immutably holy, because he is infinitely so. In other words, his preference of right is infinitely strong, so strong and so abiding as never to admit of change; of any conduct inconsistent with it.

Now this was a real change of heart; from a perfectly holy, to a perfectly sinful one. But here was no constitutional change, no change in the substance of either body or mind. It was not a change in the powers of moral agency themselves, but simply in the use of them; in consecrating their energies to a different end. Now suppose God to have come out upon Adam with the command of the text, "Make to you a new heart, for why will you die." Could Adam have justly answered, Dost thou think that I can change my own heart? Can I, who have a heart totally depraved, can I change that heart? Might not the Almighty have answered him in words of fire, Rebel, you have just changed your heart from holiness to sin, now change it back from sin to holiness.

But if we are under an obligation to do what we have no power to do, then sin is unavoidable; we are forced to sin by a natural necessity. But this is contrary to right reason, to make sin to consist in any thing that is forced upon us by the necessity of nature.

As, therefore, God requires men to make to themselves a new heart, on pain of eternal death, it is the strongest possible evidence that they are able to do it. To say that he has commanded them to do it, without telling them they are able, is consummate trifling. Their ability is implied as strongly as it can be, in the command itself.

1. Because you have all the powers of moral agency; and the thing required is, not to alter these powers, but to employ them in the service of your Maker. God has created these powers, and you can and do use them. He gives you power to obey or disobey; and your sin is, that while he sustains these powers, you prostitute them to the service of sin and Satan.

Again--These powers are as well suited to obedience as to disobedience. Your wickedness consists in a wrong but obstinate choice of sin. But is it not as easy to choose right as wrong?

"There is nothing in religion beyond the ordinary powers of nature. It consists entirely in the right exercise of the powers of nature. It is just that, and nothing else. When mankind becomes truly religious, they are not enabled to put forth exertions which they were unable before to put forth. They only exert powers which they had before, in a different way, and use them for the glory of God."

for Finney, so too a revival: "A revival is not a miracle, nor dependent on a miracle, in any sense. It is a purely philosophical result of the right use of the constituted means—as much so as any other effect produced by the application of means."

haSat 9:13am

: )

Billy sunday reminds me of a black preacher. I can see how he couldve influenced black churches

AlSat 12:45pm(edited)

Yeah, Billy Sunday looked like a very engaging & captivating person to watch...

One huge problem- he didn't really preach doctrine.

His huge crowds and popularity diminished as his audiences were later distracted and turned away by even more entertaining things such as the coming in of radio broadcasts and moving pictures.

My partial biography Summary of his preaching and family life:

He mainly preached against alcohol, general sin, and promoted a few food morals.

Thankfully he was only married once and his marriage reportedly never had any scandals touch it.

But as far as his children, his 3 boys were a "disappointment" to him and we're involved in a number of scandals.

Sunday became rich in his preaching. His boys were "pampered" and raised by a nanny/strangers. His 1 girl (the oldest) was the only one raised by Sunday's wife.

Girl died of multiple sclerosis in 1932.

Boy 1 died of suicide in 1933 (he was previously involved in drunkedness and auto theft).

Boy 2 died in car crash in 1938.

Boy 3 died in airplane crash in 1944.

Bill Sunday died in 1935 at age 72. He had a mild heart attack earlier that year and his doctor advised that he stay out of the pulpit. Sunday ignored the advice and died 1 week after preaching his last sermon.

haSat 1:07pm

I might add that he was very patriotic

Also his boys were very involved with women and Sunday's even paid blackmail money to the women to keep them quite.

AlSat 1:15pm

Yeah, it seems obvious that there is a correlation with Sunday's wealth and the pampering of his boys by strangers, and ultimately this being a huge negative in his boys' upbringing. I guess Sunday & his wife got so busy that they had to have other people take care of the majority of his children.

I hope Sir doesn't become too busy whenever he might become "famous". Or, I guess we at least have to make sure righteous, poverty driven women are maintaining oversight of the children.

AlSat 1:19pm

Ricochet note: I might like to do a summary at some point on Charles Wesley so that we can have more solidness towards some of his songs (such as 'And Can It Be').

HdSat 1:19pm(edited)

yes.....

And what sad stories about Billy and others like him when the flesh tries to preach and be a revivalist....

VcSat 1:25pm

thanks for the updated summary, I like seeing how the matter ends. In this case very sad....

HdSat 1:28pm(edited)

Beyond all this, the main far-reaching/altering fault he had was essentially being "the first evangelist to equate the 'altar call' with salvation" as discussed in this very interesting forum:

https://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/10208/was-billy-sunday-the-first-evangelist-to-equate-the-altar-call-with-salvation

Interestingly, I've always said that baptism was the Bible's altar call and someone noticed this but applied it slopp-ily in this discussion

Restorationism is a broad category of churches, originating during the Second Great Awakening, that characterize themselves as a return to very early Christianity after the true faith was lost in a Great Apostasy. Prominent among these groups are the Churches of Christ (Stone-Campbell movement) and the Latter Day Saint movement (Mormonism). The idea of "restoration" was a popular theme of the time of the founding of these branches, and developed an independent expression in both.[33][34] In the Stone-Campbell movement, the idea of restoration was combined with Enlightenment rationalism, "precluding emotionalism, spiritualism, or any other phenomena that could not be sustained by rational appeals to the biblical text."[34]

Church Hoping Through Denominations

11/28/04 (original title: CHURCH HOPING; +Word: Created/Modified); 2/23/17 (recompiled)

-- Under Construction --

I have been church hoping for some significant number of years and the Lord has given me some understanding in it.

The following applies to those coming from a solid lively non-liberal (for the most part ‘evangelical’) background.

If you practice church hoping you should not do it to find out the Truth about God or you will be snared with the wrong hook. It is not this Truth of God that you should go to learn but instead you should go to learn about the church. True enough, you may indeed find things that are True about God that you did not know before, but this is merle along the way as you learn about the church.

Again, you do not go church hoping to obtain wisdom. But you go church hoping with the wisdom of the Lord.  What? Will you seek to let men teach you the wisdom of man? And this you will certainly find unless you go in His wisdom to begin with. If you seek wisdom by church hoping, then it is not wisdom you seek but a snare and vanity.

It must not be about ecumunicalism as practiced by many to say, “Were all saved aren’t we? Were all serving the same God.  This is utter foolishness and hatred towards God.  If you think this type of philosophy is indeed wisdom, then you are pushing back God’s wisdom for a loathful counterfeit that is at war with God’s Truth. It is a primary cancer to attack and kill the church. This it will do unless we repent and fight it.  Many will go to Hell, chiefly among us, unless we viciously fight this vain philosophy.

It is a tempation when interacting with the church to become real ecumunical and unity minded. If we do this, then it is not worth church hoping. When we think we are dealing with a lot of different people who all know Jesus we have missed it.

I know that this sounds harsh, but if you go dumster diving you should not go expecting to meet many good free things but rather a lot of trash before

: )

Btw great Sir with the worship evangelism I was talking about today - I see people going out with their worship team on the streets and instead of talking to the people about the Bible, they start a worship service in the middle of the sidewalk or subway. Again with the mentality that people encountering God via worship will grab their attention. I think this plus setting up a "can I pray for you" type of setup on the street is very popular for street evangelism now. I even saw Anthony Mitchell guy do a combo of the two on a street preaching day when he was in the UK.

So that's just a bit more of what I was getting at with the "worship movement". A type of worship movement has generally been a big thing in the church, but I am seeing like a big shift in it being even more prominent now. Terms like we are God presence church for instance is becoming popular. Another term being used is God encounters.

I also hear ppl saying we were made to worship.

God presence centered church A "God presence centered church"—often called a "presence-centered church"—is a church that prioritizes the manifest presence of God, especially Jesus, above all else. Its main focus is to make worship, prayer, and direct ministry to the Lord central to everything it does, rather than treating them as secondary to programs, structures, or activities focused solely on people[1][2].

Key characteristics of a presence-centered church include:

- **Worship and prayer as first priority:** The church’s central act is *to* Jesus, making worship and prayer the core practices rather than just one aspect of church life[1].

- **Leadership models ministry to the Lord:** Senior leaders are involved in worship and prayer, establishing these as a corporate, not individual, value[1][2].

- **Gatherings are designed to encounter God:** Services are structured to anticipate God’s movement, allowing for Spirit-led worship, prophetic ministry, and space for awe and response, not just pre-planned excellence[2].

- **Unity and holiness are prioritized:** The church is seen as a spiritual house or temple being built for God’s presence, which thrives in relational unity and corporate sanctification[2]. - **Teaching transformation:** The expected outcome of God’s presence is real, lasting transformation in people, not just emotional experiences[2].

- **Prophetic and altar-centered culture:** Prophetic ministry and a posture of surrender (the altar) are embraced as part of how the church interacts with God in a living way[2]. As one pastoral summary puts it, “If the church isn’t first and foremost for God, I’m not sure it can truly be called ‘church.’... We are biblically compelled...while we prioritize Jesus as the One who receives the first and best portion of our ministry”[1]. For churches wanting to become presence-centered, leaders emphasize: - Structuring gatherings for genuine encounter, not mere function. - Training staff and teams in spiritual practices and priestly ministry. - Making God’s presence, not performance or programs, the center of church life[1][2][3]. This approach seeks to fulfill New Testament patterns (such as Acts 13 and Eph. 2) where the church is described as God’s "dwelling place" and where ministering to the Lord comes before any other ministry[1][2]. P 8:44 AM

Various Pentecostal churches have had this general attitude of presence-first, or maybe we could say, spiritual-activity-first services in times past, but it is concerning and sad and tragic to see this becoming more of a solidified movement....

'this people draws near to me with their mouth but their hearts are far from me... In vain they worship me'

Maybe almost all we can do is hope that there are 'exceptions to the rule'... Because out of all of churchianity who seriously wants what these ideals are describing? Holiness? Surely they can't be serious... Make God's presence happy? As if anyone in church ever really cared anything about how God feels!

'if they had stood in my counsel they would have caused my people to cease from their sins'

Who actually even cares just about anything about what God wants in church today? As if Holiness could be achieved within harlotry culture without demolition... As if they had any idea Who God's Spirit actually Is, or what He is saying today... As if they would eagerly welcome and embrace it if God actually spoke in their services... As if they would welcome someone to speak who really said what God was saying...

Where in all of this particular movement or anywhere else can anyone find anyone who is desperate for Bible-first spirituality? When will we ever see Truth-first, and obedience-first...? Where is that existent anywhere today? But church is a desert: People don't believe that the Truth of Bible obedience catapults New Creations into connecting with the right God.

Yes, The only way they're going to make God happy is to get up like Moses and finally agree with God and say 'you are a stiff neck people'...

Church people will do just about any and everything else besides what God actually told them to do. That is the obstinate attitude of pretending like you're being spiritual in church while not caring about cleanness, obedience, and Truth.

Just about the only good they might ever do is by accident. That's why we have to pray for an exception to the rule.

A church person once suggested on the internet: 'what if every movement and denomination was God really trying to do something but men just got in the way?' -- no, but rather, whatever a denomination or movement uniquely emphasizes the most is usually what they are most wrong about.

Because of this, they are in danger of turning their failure into their boast.

Show me someone who's happy when you open the Bible and encourage them to obey ALL of it, especially the unpopular modesty and cleanness requirements, and then I can show you someone who is a candidate for holy service to the monotheistic clean God of Bible obedience.

Old Testament = Patterns of Religious Expulsion & Persecution

Jer_20:1 NKJV Now Pashhur the son of Immer, the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.

Jer_20:2 NKJV Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.

2Ch_24:20 NKJV Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the Lord, He also has forsaken you.’ ”

2Ch_24:21 NKJV So they conspired against him, and at the command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord.

1Ki_22:24 NKJV Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?”

Amo_7:12 NKJV Then Amaziah said to Amos: “Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, and there prophesy.

Amo_7:13 NKJV But never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is the royal residence.”

Isa_66:5 NKJV Hear the word of the Lord, You who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, That we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.”

New Testament = Persecution Multiplies!

Joh_9:22 NKJV His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

Joh_9:34 NKJV They answered and said to him, “You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out.

Joh_9:35 NKJV Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”

Joh_12:42 NKJV Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue;

Joh_16:2 NKJV They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

Mat_10:17 NKJV But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.

Mat_10:22 NKJV And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Mat_23:34 NKJV Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,

Luk_6:22 NKJV Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.

Luk_11:49 NKJV Therefore the wisdom of God also said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

Luk_21:12 NKJV But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.

Act_5:40 NKJV And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

Act_6:12 NKJV And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council.

Act_7:52 NKJV Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,

Act_8:1 NKJV Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Act_9:1 NKJV Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,

Act_13:50 NKJV But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.

Act_14:2 NKJV But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren.

Act_14:19 NKJV Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.

Act_17:5 NKJV But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

Act_18:12 NKJV When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat,

Act_21:27 NKJV Now when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him,

2Co_11:24 NKJV From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.

1Th_2:14 NKJV For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,

1Th_2:15 NKJV who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men,

2Ti_3:12 NKJV Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Jam_2:6 NKJV But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?

1Jn_3:12 NKJV not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.

1Jn_3:13 NKJV Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

Pastors & Their Churches Are Commanded To Repent

This work was originally written to call pastors to repent of teaching that “christian” adulterers are going to heaven, but most of it applies to church members and church leaders in general.

Warning: Pastors are Propagating the church!

Pastors are among the primary religious propagators of this day. By feeding their “sheep” with the propaganda of adultery, they are breeding goats into wolves. If the church leaders are blindly leading today’s church goers, then they will certainly both fall into a pit, (Luk_6:39)!

Pastors and church Leaders are No Different than School Kids Who Compromise Out of Peer Pressure

Perhaps many of us remember being in Middle School and High School, and perhaps we remember how much peer pressure there is to conform to social norms, and often there is extreme pressure to do things that are foolish and wrong. Young people do what they do because they are young and they are influenced by their friends to do these things because they want to be accepted. Having been raised in typical American culture, I remember what it is like to feel like your whole world revolves around your “friends.”

We may recount how vain and foolish it can be to give yourself to “friends” in school, especially when kids give into the pressure to do bad things, and to even lie to their parents. In school you often don’t realize that in a few years most all of these “friends” will be completely gone, and then what will you have left to show for all of the foolish and sinful things you have done in your few years of pleasing your peers? Your parents whom you lied to are still in your life, but your peers you sought to please are usually all gone. This same reality is even more potent when we talk about church situations.

So many church leaders are compromising just like school kids and even lying before the Father who is over all creation in order to please the people in their congregations. For this fleeting and vain church social life, they will breach integrity over and over and fail to do what is right. But when judgment comes, where will all of their friends be whom they lied for? In that day pastors will be like school kids who have graduated only to find that all of their friends have abandoned them, and they are now left alone to face the reality of life. It is no more fun and games, but now reality must hit, and who can stand when this means judgment before God?

The cheap and fleeting false comfort of telling church goers that they are going to heaven is a social addiction that modern pastors are enslaved to. This foolish and sinful lie is based off of a counterfeit “love” which is not giving people love at all, but is really feeding a social addiction that does not tell people what is in their best interest so as to possibly save their souls from hell.

It is time some real integrity for truth hit our conscious, and we realized how vain, foolish and cheap our socializing is, and we repented for sinning against God to please the people. It is high time that we valued God over pleasing men, so as to not give our lives to fleeting lies and vanity. It is high time that we repented of being school kids pleasing our peers, so that when the reality of judgment hits, we will have some reason and basis to face it boldly with the consolation and assurance that comes from a life that is given to pleasing Jesus.

The Compromised church – Locked in Bondage to Death, Darkness, and Sin

Obeying the Bible is the only answer to heal the chaos that the modern church has now normalized and brought upon herself by disobeying God in this matter. But the church has continued to compromise Jesus clear teaching on divorce and remarriage, because so many people are getting divorced and remarried.  As the church keeps changing and liberalizing its teachings and standards more and more to fit the ever degrading state of pervading normalized immorality among the people, many more onlookers feel all the more free to choose the option that has now been accommodated and accepted before their eyes. Divorce and remarriage is everywhere in the church, and it is increasing more and more. But even if pastors don’t mean it to go this far, without a true and complete repentance, there is nothing that can be done to stop it, since, in the end, you can never determine and halt the resulting extent of damage done once you have committed yourself to a breach from the integrity of truth.

Our present teachings have nearly nothing to do with Truth, but rather of pleasing people and accommodating sin for the sake of the counterfeit of “successful churches” and human “love” over the fear and love of God. But our actions are inexcusable because the Bible has clearly spoken:

>DivRem List

Adultery Condemned

Exo_20:14/Deu_5:18; Lev_20:10; Deu_22:22-24; Pro_2:16-19; Pro_6:23-33; Jer_5:7-9; Jer_29:21-23; Eze_23:43-47; Mal_3:5-6; Mat_5:27-32; Mat_19:9, Mat_19:16, Mat_19:18/ Mar_10:17, Mar_10:19/ Luk_18:18, Luk_18:20; 1Co_6:9-10; Gal_5:16-21; Heb_13:4; Rev_2:22-23… etc. Also see: Mat_15:19; Mar_7:21; Rom_13:9-10; Jas_2:11-12; 2Pet_2:14, 2Pet_2:17-22

Divorce and Remarriage is Adultery

Mat_5:27-32; Mat_19:3-10; Mar_10:2-12; Luk_16:16-18; Rom_7:2-3; 1Co_7:10-11, 1Co_7:39

And instead of warning pleas issued to a dead and perishing people, we so frequently enter a church building only to see and hear professional speakers playing nice religious games over the deathbeds of the condemned. We hear the demonic sounds of comforting fabrications that call church goers “God’s people” and “The house of the lord,” as though the pews were actually occupied by people who Loved the Bible enough to obey it.

When are we going to walk into churches and hear pastors pleading with their members to repent and save themselves from perishing under the unbearable weight of God’s mighty judgment and fierce wrath against their souls for living in sin (Act_2:40; Act_20:21, Act_20:24; Luk_12:5; 2Co 5:11; Heb_10:31; Jud_1:23)? When are pastors going to hold their people accountable for living in sin and fearlessly taking the name of Jesus upon them? When are we going to stop paying professional entertainers to lie to us and tell us we are all christians on our way to heaven? When are we going to stop calling divorced and remarried people christians and start calling them adulterers that must repent of their immoral relationships to live, like the Scriptures say? But for the sake of those among the church who are in this state, the church and her leaders now sacrifice the Truth to give “vain comfort” to the church’s own destruction (see Zec_10:2-3).

Practically no one that really sees the modern church, except a blind humanistic fool, would even attempt to seriously say that the church as a whole is getting closer and closer to the Truth. The corruption is obvious. It is clear that we are not evolving upward, but corroding downward into sin and then finally into hell itself. It is an obvious blight against us before the church and the rest of the world that the church is slowly and sometimes rapidly declining into her state of apostasy, just as the Scriptures have said warning us over and over (2Th_2:3, 2Th_2:5; 1Ti_4:1-3; 2Ti_4:3-4). “christian” television serves as an obvious reminder that the antichrist is not far off. Yes, his spirit is already in our midst preaching to us!

>>R: check out MT/ DSS

Ezr_9:2 CAB …the hand of the rulers has been first in this transgression.

>> this shows us even from the NT that it will be the leaders who corrupt in the end-times:

2Pe_2:2-3 CAB  And many will follow after their… [Textual variation: “destructions” (απωλειαις), (T/S Texts), or “lustfulness-es” (ασελγειαις), (B/A Texts); (see “GNT” in the Bibliography)], because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.  3  And by covetousness they will exploit you with fabricated words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction will not sleep.

2Pe_2:2-3 KJB And many shall follow their damnable ways; because of whom the way of truth shall be spoken evil of. 3 And through greediness they shall with deceptive words make merchandise of you: whose judgment from of old does not wait, and their damnation does not sleep.

In light of the fallen state of the church, it is only reasonable to expect that if the church forsakes long-held strict hard-core positions for more complacent ones, we can be certain that in such cases it is only for the sake of sin, which is exactly what the Scriptures predict.

The pastors have become the fathers of this corruption in the modern Western church having propagated others worse than themselves, by their damnable propaganda (Mat_23:15). And why should we be surprised? The Scriptures have foretold these days, again and again they have been spoken of from the days of the prophets on through the writings of the New Testament.

Some Basic Hebrew and Greek Concepts About Pastors

>>R: research Hebrew/ Greek

In all of the following verses, the same Hebrew word is used which can, and does, get translated as either “pastor” or “shepherd.” The words “pastor” or “shepherd” are the exact same concept Biblically, but we have distinguished them culturally in English. (This same principal applies in Hebrew as well as Greek). For the sake of direct application, the following passages are all marked with the word “pastor” whenever it is not translated that way.

There are a lot of verses I am about to give you here, so if you like, you can skim through and read only the underlined portions. But in all cases, please be sober minded and clean hearted so that you may nobly consider these verses as they speak to us today, and, “…just as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you will hear His voice,  8  Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness,’” (Heb_3:7-8 CAB).

Some Serious Biblical Warnings Against Leaders and “Pastors

Jer_10:20-21 CAB Your tabernacle is in a ruinous state, it has perished; and all your curtains have been torn asunder. My children and my cattle are no more; there is no longer any place for my tent, nor place for my curtains.  21  For the shepherds [pastors] have become foolish G1197, [or messed up or senseless] and have not sought the Lord; therefore the whole pasture has failed, and the sheep have been scattered.

Jer_10:20-21 KJV My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains. For the pastors are become brutishG1197, [or messed up or senseless] and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

Jer_12:6-11 CABDo not trust in them, though they shall speak fair words to you.  7  I have forsaken My house, I have left My heritage; I have given My beloved one into the hands of her enemies.  8  My inheritance has become to Me as a lion in a forest; she has uttered her voice against Me; therefore have I hated her.  9...Go, gather together all the wild beasts of the field, and let them come to devour her.  10  Many shepherds [pastors] have destroyed My vineyard, they have defiled My portion, they have made My desirable portion a trackless wilderness.  11  It is made a complete ruin: <<for My>> sake the whole land has been utterly ruined, because there is none that takes the matter to heart.

Jer_12:6-11 KJB don’t believe them, though they speak fair words [“words” not in 4QJera] unto you. 7 I have forsaken my house, I have left my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. 8 My heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it cries out against me: therefore I have hated it. 9 …come… assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour. 10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. 11 They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourns unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man takes it to heart.

No one takes to heart the corruption in this issue, and so the church acquires cancers.

Jer_22:22 CAB  The wind shall tend [i.e. blow away] all your shepherds [pastors], and your lovers shall go into captivity; for then shall you be ashamed and disgraced because of all your lovers. [see: 4QJerc]

Jer_22:22 KJB The wind shall eat up [better? From MT: sweep away] all your pastors, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then you shall be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

Jer_23:1-4 CAB Woe to the shepherds [pastors] that destroy and scatter the sheep of their pasture!  2  Therefore thus says the Lord against them that tend My people: You have scattered My sheep, and driven them out... behold, I will take vengeance upon you according to your evil practices… 4  And I will raise up shepherds to them, who shall feed them…, and <<they shall fear no more, nor be alarmed, says the Lord.>>

Jer_23:1-4 KJBWoe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” Says the LORD. 2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; “You have scattered my flock, and driven them away… behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, says the LORD… 4 And I will set up pastors over them which shall feed them: and …neither shall they be lacking, says the LORD.”

Jer_25:33-37 CAB  And the slain of the Lord shall be in the day of the Lord from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth.  34  Howl, O you shepherds [pastors], and cry; lament, you rams [i.e. male leaders] of the flock: for your days have been completed for slaughter, and you shall fall as the choice rams.  35  And flight shall perish from the shepherds [pastors], and safety from the rams of the flock.  36  A voice of the crying of the shepherds [pastors], and a moaning of the sheep and the rams: for the Lord has destroyed their pastures.  37  And the peaceful dwellings that remain shall be destroyed before the fierceness of My anger.

Jer_25:33-37 KJB And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. 34 Howl, you pastors, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, you <<leaders>> of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of <<your dispersions are accomplished>>; and you shall fall like <<a pleasant vessel>>. 35 And the pastors shall have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to escape. 36 A voice of the cry of the pastors, and a howling of the leaders of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD has spoiled their pasture. 37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger <<of the LORD>>.

Jer_50:6-7 CAB  My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds [pastors] thrust them out, they caused them to wander on [DSS: “they have turned back from” (4QJerc)] the mountains; they went from mountain to hill, they forgot their resting place.  7  All that found them consumed them. Their enemies said, Let us not leave them alone, because they have sinned against the Lord…

Jer_50:6-7 KJB My people have been lost sheep: their pastors have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on [DSS: “they have turned back from” (4QJerc)]  the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place. 7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, “We do not sin, because they have sinned against the LORD…”

Eze_34:1-10 CAB And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,  2  Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds [pastors] of Israel...  4  The weak one you have not strengthened… and the stray one you have not turned back, and the lost you have not sought…  9  for this cause, O shepherds, 10  thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require My sheep at their hands, and will turn them back that they shall not feed My sheep… [It is good to read all of chapter 34, especially verses 1-16]

Eze_34:1-9 KJB And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the pastors of Israel… 4 The diseased you have not strengthened… neither have you brought again that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost… 9; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock… [It is good to read all of chapter 34, especially verses 1-16]

·         Today’s pastors have left those diseased in their sin telling them that it is not sin.

·         They have not “brought again that which was driven away,” [such as the time-honored Biblical Truth of this issue] neither have they “sought that which was lost”

·         “Therefore… the Lord GOD says… I am against the pastors”

Isa_56:9-11 CAB  All you beasts of the field, come, devour, all you beasts of the forest.  10  See how they are all blinded; they have not known; they are dumb dogs that will not bark; dreaming of rest, loving to slumber.  11  Yea, they are insatiable dogs, that know not what it is to be filled, and they are <<wicked>>, having no understanding; all have followed their own ways, each according to his will.

[Technical Source text Note: I have particularly used CAB for Isaiah, because it is based on the LXX, and this Greek source text is basically what the New Testament usually uses for Isaiah (for more, see the online version of our Bibliography under, “Finding the Old Testament”)]

Isa_56:9-12 WEB All you animals of the field, come to devour, yes, all you animals in the forest. His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they can’t bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber. Yes, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are <<pastors>> who can’t understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter. Come you, say they, I will get wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, a day great beyond measure.

“Every thing’s fine…” they tell us. Everyone here is saved…” they lie – as they and their churches wallow in adultery on their way to hell.

Zec_10:3 a CAB  My anger was kindled against the shepherds [pastors]

And Jesus says:

Mat_23:13-16 CAB …you will receive greater condemnation.  14  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the kingdom of heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.  15  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you travel around land and sea to make one proselyte, and whenever he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you.  16  Woe to you, blind guides

>> I think I need to say something like:

It was in the OT and the NT, and it also says it will be like this in the end times when the leaders will be guilty of leading people astray:

>> recall/ combine 2Pe ref here

Heap themselves teachers having itching ears… >> compare others and TSK here…

And God also says:

Isa_6:10 CAB  their ears are hard of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

[Technical Source text Note: I have particularly used CAB for Isaiah, because it is based on the LXX, and this Greek source text is basically what the New Testament usually uses for Isaiah – especially with this particular passage (as seen in Isa_6:9-10; Mat_13:14-15; Mar_4:12; Act_28:26-27; Joh_12:40), (for more, see the online version of our Bibliography under, “Finding the Old Testament”)]

We can protest all we want and say, “these Bible verses do not apply today,” but don’t they apply when it is obvious that we are living in the exact same sins?

If we will repent of our falsehood in this area and no longer except people as christians who are divorced and remarried, including pastors, then we have this promise from God concerning pastors and leaders:

Jer_2:8 CAB  the shepherds [pastors] also sinned against Me…

Jer_3:14-15 CAB  Turn, you children that have revolted, says the Lord...  15  And I will give you shepherds [pastors] after My heart, and they shall certainly tend you with knowledge.

Jer_3:14-15 KJV Turn, O backsliding children, says the LORD… 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

(Also remember that we quoted Eze_34:9-16 and Jer_23:4 a few passages ago, and you can also see these references for this same promise).

The Absolute Treachery of Money-Hungry Pastor-Perverts

MT

Zec 11:4-9 WEB  Thus says Yahweh my God: "Feed the flock of slaughter.  5  Their buyers slaughter them, and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, 'Blessed be Yahweh, for I am rich;' and their own shepherds don't pity them.  6  For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land," says Yahweh; "but, behold, I will deliver the men everyone into his neighbor's hand, and into the hand of his king. They will strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them."  7  So I fed the flock of slaughter…  8  I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.  9  Then I said, "I will not feed you. That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let those who are left eat each other's flesh."

LXX

Zec_11:4-9 CAB  Thus says the Lord Almighty, Feed the sheep of the slaughter;  5  which their possessors have slain, and have not repented: and they that sold them said, Blessed be the Lord; for we have become rich: and their shepherds have suffered no sorrow for them.  6  Therefore I will no longer have mercy upon the inhabitants of the land, says the Lord…  8  And I will cut off three shepherds in one month, and My soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against Me.  9  And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat the flesh of his neighbor.

[>>!note: I still need to compare this with MT w LXX]

2Pe_2:2-3 KJV  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  3  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you [ὑμᾶς ἐμπορεύσονται]: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

And you are so confident that your perverted flattering pastors will do you well, but He says:

Zec_11:15-16 WEB  Yahweh said to me, "Take for yourself yet again the equipment of a foolish shepherd.  16  For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those who are cut off, neither will seek those who are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.

Zec_11:15-16 CAB  And the Lord said to me, Take to yourself shepherd's implements belonging to an unskillful shepherd.  16  For behold, I will raise up a shepherd against the land: he shall not visit that which is perishing, and he shall not seek that which is scattered, and he shall not heal that which is bruised, nor guide that which is whole: but he shall devour the flesh of the choice ones, and shall dislocate the joints of their necks.

But churches today are given such leaders because they deserve such folly, and have lusted after death by loving deception:

2Ti 4:3-4 CAB  …but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears,  4  and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.

So many pastors are wondering why they have lost honor and “status” in society. God very clearly answers this question.

Mal 2:8-9 WEB  But you have turned aside out of the way. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi," says Yahweh of Armies.  9  "Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.
