@team: Church
Business Meeting
I
would like to “call to order” our Church's Official Business Meeting
(i.e. we’re trying to do a virtual Business Meeting in chat)
(No
worries: you can keep simultaneously talking about any other needed things in
chat like normal, but I just want to have an opportunity to take some virtual
votes, etc., as we decide on Church business before we hopefully get to meet
for a more "Bible study" oriented conference today)
In
the future hopefully we'll get to do our virtual and in person business meetings
more on Fridays and Saturdays.
Al: Combining Resources

This might sound
like such an uninformed question, but if Ay's housing
situation has become unbearable, and if she has to live in a big city, then it
sounds like the best option would be to move in with H somewhere or at least
into H's apartment temporarily. This seems like it would combine and decrease
expenses.
If she temporarily
moved into H's apartment then could she also temporarily rent a small storage
unit for her overflow stuff? Is that ok?
Or maybe, is it ok
to purchase an economical housing option that can house both of them even if it
doesn't have all the ideal specs such as multiple bathrooms, or a setup for
visitors, or acreage, etc? Could we just, at least
for now, prioritize combining resources, decreases expenses, getting Ay out of an unlivable situation, and making sure H can get
to work everyday?
Sorry again if these
aren't very good questions.

H Budgeting Comments

I just wanted to
share a small example of how important quantifying things can be for
discussions on what to do first for projects. When we first were looking at
housing there were a lot of strong impressions that we could afford to build a
house on Sir's parent's property. When I got rough numbers on how much a
project like that would cost and you guys got confirmations on the general
numbers in the budget I made, we were able to quickly rule that out as an
option.
At least to me
numbers can help move an abstract idea into something that is more concrete and
makes it easier to understand some of the implications of a situation.

Thats a thought I had towards the concept of quantifying paperwork
projects that prevent loss vs working on construction projects that prevent
loss
