“Woe” = “Hell” (for the rich): cut out 4, 5, cursed down 6, thrown into 2, 3, 4, 5 and burnt down 5 in the Judgement 1 of ·the ongoing/perpetual/eternal 3, 6, inextinguishable/unquenchable 5 fire 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 of Hell/Gehenna 1, 2, 3 separated and gone away from God’s presence 4, 6 forever -- these are descriptions that are applied after the “woes” of the rich.

(1) Mat_5:22, (2) Mat_5:29-30; (also: (3) Mat_18:8-9); (4) Mat_7:19...Mat_7:23 (Jesus is quoting John the Baptist: (5) Mat_3:10-12 / Luk_3:9, Luk_3:16-17; which is also repeated/paralleled later: (6) Mat_25:41 {also comp. Luk_1:53 -- quoted below})

(1) Mat_5:22 – ὀργιζόμενος…εἰκῆ…τῇ κρίσει…ῥακά…μωρέ, ἔνοχος ἔσται εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός (Mat_18:9)

(2) Mat_5:29-30 – βληθῇ εἰς γέενναν

(3) Mat_18:8-9 – βληθῆναι εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιον… βληθῆναι εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός (same as Mat_5:22)

Mat_7:23] οἱ κατηραμένοι [cursed down] εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιον τὸ ἡτοιμασμένον* τῷ διαβόλῳ καὶ τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ [* ἑτοιμάζω < ἑτοιμος -- From an old noun ἕτεος]

The Point: No Hungry Begging = Rich Luxury = Hell

If you don’t ·crouch down and beg as a desperate poor person [πτωχοί (Mat_5:3; Luk_6:20); πτωχὸς…πτωχὸν (Luk_16:20-22)] now [νῦν…νῦν…νῦν (Luk_6:21, Luk_6:25)] hungering & thirsting for righteousness [πεινῶντες καὶ διψῶντες (Mat_5:6; Luk_6:21)], then Jesus says you will definitely go to hell [γέενναν] for being “rich” [πλουσίοις (Luk_6:24-25; 1Co_4:8; Jas_1:10; Jas_5:2 -- quoted later)].

(3) James 2 & 1Corinthians – God Chose the Poor for Rich Faith & Kingdom Inheritance

Jas_2:5 CAB  …Did [the (ὁ)] God not ·choose [out with words] the ·poor [crouching beggars] [ἐξελέξατο1 τοὺς πτωχοὺς2 – (1) ἐξ + λέγω (same as Jas_2:5), (2) (same as Mat 5 & Luk 6)] of the world [τοῦ κόσμου] to be rich in faith, and heirs [κληρονόμους – inheritors by lot & by law (same as Mat_5:5)] of the kingdom [same as Mat 5 <<< Luk??] which He promised [ἐπηγγείλατο – lit. upon-message-announced / firmly pronounced an assurance] to those that love Him?_

Jas_2:5 Greek  ᾿Ακούσατε, ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί· οὐχ ὁ Θεὸς ἐξελέξατο τοὺς πτωχοὺς τοῦ κόσμου πλουσίους ἐν πίστει καὶ κληρονόμους τῆς βασιλείας ἧς ἐπηγγείλατο τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν;

>> mk kingdom note above
