So you “don’t take the Bible
literally”? What you actually mean is you “take,” or hijack,
and rob God’s Words from yourself and others as though they were not
actually necessary to obey to gain life.
The Words of God are not subject to your
cross-examination
The Bible is not on trial, you are!
Repent of Cross-Examining the Scriptures or be rejected
by their scrutiny against your contemptible soul!
Gen_3:1
- Adam, Eve and the serpent: “Did God really say” (Cross-examining:
Gen_3:4-6)
-
It is the very herald of all evil that first emboldened man to think he had a
place to cross-examine the Words of God
Num_15:30-31 - Don't be
presumptuous against God's commands
\/
Num_15:32-36
- Stoned for picking up sticks: That will teach you to take God’s
commands figuratively!

under the old covenant!)

“Moses is the one who accuses you”
(Moses was like their ‘Paul,’ for the OT)
Joh_5:45-47 CAB Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you--Moses, in whom you have hoped. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"
Every Transgression
Heb_2:2-4 CAB For if the word which was spoken through angels was confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which in the beginning was spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
\/
Paul Wrote Scripture: Will you be as the Pharisees
were with Moses?
1Th_2:13 CAB Because of this we also give thanks to God unceasingly, so that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you received not the word of men, but just as* it truly is, the word of God, which also is at work** in you who believe.
* Greek: “ἀλλὰ καθώς ἐστιν ἀληθῶς, λόγον Θεοῦ”

Paul is
the Man Sent for the Gentiles
Act_26:16-18 CAB But arise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will yet reveal to you, 17 delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, 18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'
(Also: Act_9:15
- Chosen vessel for the nations)
Paul’s
Writings are Scripture
2Pe_3:15-16 CAB and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you, 16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them about these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the unlearned and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
Scripture
Definition:
2Pe_1:20-21 CAB knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture comes about from one's own interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being brought along by the Holy Spirit.
Compare
this with what Peter says previously:
1Pe_1:24-25 CAB For "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man is as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, 25 but the word of the LORD endures forever." Now this is the word which was proclaimed to you.
Mat_23:16-36 - Hypocrites… Lawlessness (Mar_7:6-13)
esp.:
Mat_23:16-22
- Temple & Alter: Gold Lust vs. Spiritual Substance
Mat_23:23-24 - Tithe, gnat vs.
camel,
Mat_23:25-32- outside of cup >
White washed tombs
Mat_23:32-33 - Guilt > snakes
> Hell
Mat_23:34-36
- Persecution > guilt
1Co_14:37
- If spiritual, acknowledge the Epistles = the commandments of God
1Th_2:12-13
- You accepted it as it is in truth, the Words of God
\/
2Th_3:13-14
- Whoever does not obey our word by this epistle…
2Pe_1:20-21
- No private interpretation
|
Pro_22:21 CAB I
therefore teach you truth, and knowledge good to hear, that you may
answer words of truth to them that question you. |
Pro_22:21 KJ2000
That I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth;
that you might answer the words of truth to them that send unto you? |
Joh_7:16-18 EMTV Therefore Jesus answered them and said,
"My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. 17 If anyone desires to do His will, he will
know about the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I am speaking on My
own authority. 18 He
who speaks from himself is seeking his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of
the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.

not my own…

2Pe_1:19-21 EMTV And we have the prophetic word made more
sure, which you do well to heed, as a lamp shining in a dark place, until the
day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20
knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture comes about from
one's own interpretationG1955,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man,
but holy men of God spoke, being brought along by the Holy Spirit.

From G1956; explanation,

interpretation.
2Ti_3:13-17 EMTV But evil men
and impostors shall advance worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you
have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the
Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith
which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness, 17 that
the man of God may be proficient, having been thoroughly equipped for every
good work.
Consider: The sufficiency and Divine
Continuity of Scripture
Tit_2:11-15 KJ2000 For the
grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and
worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world; 13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Savior Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem
us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own, zealous of
good works. 15 These
things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.
mouths must be stopped
2Ti_4:1-8
-
While pagans talk about “doctrinal diversity,” disciples talk about
truth
-
pagans say, you can’t know truth, so we need many gods
-
Disciples say, you only need one God because there is only one truth
-
disciples say: You can know truth and hold others acountable to that truth by
charging them to repent
>
ho. sp convicts world of sin...
>
It is your job to find truth, not the preacher's job to prove it
Now,
by an actually honest declaration:
Are
you choosing to be a pagan or a follower of Jesus?
>
If of Jesus, then you have no right to interpretations and opinions
Jos_24:15 KJ2000 And if it seem
evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the
River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and
my house, we will serve the LORD.
Jas_1:21 ect.
Rom_10:6-10 KJ2000 But the righteousness
which is of faith speaks thus, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into
heaven?... 8 But
what says it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that
is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the
dead, you shall be saved. 10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
