A General Introduction - Why this
Passage is Important
The value of showing
weather or not this passage should be taken literally
goes beyond this one instance. You may be tempted to relegate this
issue to a lower priority in your doctrinal values, but the problem is not that
you would mess up with this one scripture, but that you would establish an
un-biblical un-submitted selfish irreverent pattern of interpretation that
would follow you until it is killed.
For absolute clarity’s sake: I’m not talking
about the undecided but the rash in this section. If you don’t know where you stand yet,
don’t feel that I’m talking about you. Neither am I talking about people that
kind-a assumed that it was not literal. You still have a chance to change. I do not wish to
come across as being harsh to those who do not know better. But I hope that after reading this
that you will be educated by the Bible and have a chance to change.
I am also not at this point talking about an
absolute point of salvation.
If you disagree with me I am not saying that you are not going to
heaven, but that it is not worth the risk. If I was stating me own
opinion then there would be no danger. But because I am laying out what the
Bible says, there is a risk.
Weather or not it is a determinate of
salvation you have no reason to have a confidence either way if you are off. Even if you did
make to heaven, you are still endangering others by promoting false hood, and
that is worth being afraid about.
I know people who wonder why they have a hard
time with cretin scriptures as though they had tried everything to get the
Truth. Then
these same people take matters like this nonchalantly and rashly make a go at
their own idea of what this scripture means. If I got a chance I am persuaded to
say to such a one, “Don’t come to me about how you are struggling in this or
that in your pursuit of God, and or in your obedience or understanding of the
Bible, when you still have reachable readily changeable prerequisites to
getting the Truth.” This
person is like some one repeatedly running in to a
closed door saying, “Why can I get into the next room??” If you are continuing to re-interpret
scripture just the way you feel like interpreting it then you are shooting your self in the foot in preparation to run a marathon. If you are
struggling, and you hold that this scripture is not literal don’t pretend like you don’t know of anything to that you could change.
Arguments Against
Taking it Literally:
1.We
all lust and you don’t see anyone going around and plucking out his or her eye.
2.Jesus
wasn’t supposed to be taken literally. How can you tell if it is your right
eye or your left eye that is causing you to sin? He must have meant something more than
that.
3.It is the heart that is responsible for lust not the
eyes!
Why you Should
Take it Literally
1. A. It
does not mater weather or not I or someone else obeys
the Bible, it is still true and
should be obeyed.
B. If we take Jesus literally, you can still know that He is not in to
the idea of plucking out one’s eye and neither is it necessary! Bear with me and
I’ll show you why.
The immediate
context and situation that Jesus gives for plucking
out an eye is that one is hell bound because they cannot control them selves. Do I struggle with lust? -Yes just like
every other male on the planet. But this is not the same as being hell
bound because one gives into lust and
so lives a life style of it.
Granted most males give into it, but this is not the case with
the saved male population which goes to heaven. We will struggle with but not end up giving
in to this life style.
In the cases
where one gives in to a lustful lifestyle, one is not saved. The same situation is described in 1Jo_3:6-10 where the
proper translation of “does” or “commits” is the same word which includes one
who continues to sin or continues to do righteousness.
1Jo_3:6-10 KJV-Based Whosoever abides in Him does not sin: whosoever sins has
not seen Him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you: he
that does4160 [continues in]
righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 8 He that committs4160 [continues in]
sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this
purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the
devil. 9 Whoever is
born of God does4160 not [continue to] commit sin; for His seed
remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are
manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does4160 not do righteousness is not of God, neither he that does not
love his brother.
The reason that I brought up this First John
passage, is because it stands in agreement with the type of thing that Jesus is talking about which is a very literally True and
much needed statement.
In such cases it would be better to pluck out an eye rather than
continue to lust. This
is not to say that eye plucking is the only solution, but only that it would be
better than being thrown into Geenna, (AKA “Hell”). This is the needed shock value
of extreme truth, and with it one can face the harsh
reality and not make excuses for lusting when they know how serious it is.
2. The issue about
which eye is causing me to sin is a mute point
because that is not the significance of a right eye. The right hand side is repeatedly used
all threwout the Bible as
being “The best” of something. For example Jesus
is seated at the right hand of God,
() the right hand of fellowship is a
special place of honor, () being blessed with the right hand is a greater
blessing than the left, (Gen_48:12-22) and so on
and so on. Here
are some more examples:
Exo_15:6, Exo_15:12, Exo_29:20, Exo_29:22, Lev_7:32, Lev_7:33, Lev_8:23, Lev_8:24, Lev_8:25, Lev_8:26, Lev_9:21, Lev_14:14, Lev_14:16, Lev_14:17, Lev_14:25, Lev_14:27, Lev_14:28, Num_18:18, Deu_33:2, Jdg_3:16, Jdg_7:20, 1Sa_11:2, 2Sa_20:9, 1Ki_2:19, 2Ki_23:13, 1Ch_6:39, Job_30:12, Job_40:14, Psa_16:8, Psa_16:11, Psa_17:7, Psa_18:35, Psa_20:6, Psa_21:8, Psa_26:10, Psa_44:3, Psa_45:6, Psa_45:9, Psa_60:5, Psa_63:8, Psa_73:23, Psa_74:11, Psa_77:10, Psa_78:54, Psa_80:15, Psa_80:17, Psa_89:13, Psa_89:25, Psa_89:42, Psa_98:1, Psa_108:6, Psa_109:6, Psa_109:31, Psa_110:1, Psa_110:5, Psa_118:15, Psa_118:16, Psa_121:5, Psa_137:5, Psa_138:7, Psa_139:14, Psa_142:4, Psa_144:8, Psa_144:11, Pro_4:11, Pro_27:16, Ecc_10:2, Son_2:6, Son_8:3, Isa_9:20, Isa_41:13, Isa_44:20, Isa_45:1, Isa_48:13, Isa_62:8, Isa_63:12, Jer_22:24, Lam_2:3, Lam_2:4, Eze_16:46, Eze_21:22, Zec_3:1, Zec_11:17, Mat_5:29, Mat_5:30, Mat_5:39, Mat_6:3, Mat_20:21, Mat_20:23, Mat_22:44, Mat_25:33, Mat_25:34, Mat_26:64, Mat_27:29, Mar_12:36, Mar_14:62, Mar_16:19, Luk_1:11, Luk_6:6, Luk_20:42,Luk_22:69, Joh_21:6, Act_2:25, Act_2:33, Act_2:34, Act_3:7, Act_5:31, Act_7:55, Act_7:56, Rom_8:34, Gal_2:9, Eph_1:20, Col_3:1, Heb_1:3, Heb_1:13, Heb_8:1, Heb_10:12, Heb_12:2, 1Pe_3:22, Rev_1:16, Rev_1:17, Rev_1:20, Rev_2:1, Rev_5:1, Rev_5:7, Rev_13:16.
(126 scriptures)
So if we take a
little logic and suppose that the Bible means this
time, the same thing that it meant the previous 100-something times then the
passage would be rightly read:
“Even If your best
hand causes you to sin, it’s better to chop off your best hand than to have all
the rest of your body parts thrown in to Hell with it. –Lust is that serious!”
· This is even shown
in the same speech when he talks about the right cheek.

4.If something ‘causes you to
sin’ that does not mean that you are not guilty, but only that it caused it. Jesus recognized
this:
Mtt. 13:41 The Son of Man will
send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that
causes sin and all who do evil. (NIV)
Other times that He said the same
thing
If
everything else has not clicked, then it becomes
undeniably clear in light of the other time that Jesus said the same things,
and how it was recorded in different accounts:
Mat_18:6-9 EMTV "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to
stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone be hanged on his
neck, and he be drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses!
For offenses must come, but woe to that man through whom the offense comes! 8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut them
off and cast them
from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, than having
two hands or two feet, to be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. It
is better for you to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes, to be
thrown into the fiery hell.
MK
9:42 "And if anyone causes
one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him
to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck. [43] If
your hand causes you to sin,
cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go
into hell, where the fire never goes out. [45] And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off.
It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two
feet and be thrown into hell. [47] And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to
enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes
and be thrown into hell, [48] where
" `their worm
does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'
In
light of all of the Biblical proofs I’ve shown, it is perfectly logical in the
Kingdom to interpret the “plucking” passages literally and anything else would
be inconsistent and un-biblical. Do I use this passage for other
applications? Yes
it is better for me to kick out a bad member of the church than have the whole
congregation ‘go to Hell.’
But I do it after giving priority to what it originally literally
means.
I beg you to look at this issue soberly and in
Truth! If you
argue against taking it literally, then consider: The
most that you may have is a good argument saying not to take it literally, but
I have over 130 Bible verses that say that you
should.
Fools
like to take the Bible figuativly to escape
submitting to the Bible.
“If the shoe fits where it” and realize that you are the one who
was deceived to distort God’s Word.
·
If you compromise the clear teachings of the Bible,
then you are just as guilty as “those people,” who we always shake our heads at. “No one is
predestined to hell” is the same as
“Gifts passed away with Apostles” is the
same as “No more tongues/ healings…,” is
the same as “No instruments in Church,” is
the same as “Baptismal Regeneration,” is
the same as “If it ant King James it ant the Bible,” is the same as “No take pluck out eye literally”
Þ
They all lead to: “The Bible was not meant to be taken
literally,” “Jesus rose from the dead spiritually
but not physically,” and “all religions lead to the same place.”
Well-Being
1/8/26
Jesus places the avoidance of sin at The
core essence of a person's psychological sense of well-being.
Jesus stops you abruptly and shockingly from ever even
coming close to trivializing sin
Body part chopping absolutely stops you dead in your tracks
from trivializing sin
Remember, he's already established that you have to be the
first one to admit that you're wrong, and he deepens your passion by absolutely
demanding vital seriousness against all sin no matter the cost
The SURVIVAL-Motivation of Hand chopping
12/25/25
Literally cutting off a body part is part of an essential obsessive
posture toward the vital necessity of apprehending salvation from sin.
Whenever you say it's figurative or don't take him seriously
you're actually undermining the exact psychological functionality that Jesus is
telling you to have:
Achievement motivation,
Goals as safety signals, Sense of safety strategies,
Safety/Security needs channeled into achievement,
Failure-avoidant motivation, Avoidance-focused
achievement,
Mastery orientation, Mastery goals, Contingent
self-worth, Contingent self-esteem, Achievement-based identity,
Approach-oriented achievement motivation, Overidentification with performance, Overidentification
with role, Achievement addiction, Maladaptive
perfectionism, Self-actualization drive, Purpose-driven identity,
Meaning-making through goals

Plucking out An Eye, Literally
11/24/25
Liberal apostates like to say that Matthew_5:27-30 can't be literal
They have various excuses like saying that cutting off body
parts doesn't actually change the heart.
They may also say that JC is the master of hyperbole, which
is of course the opposite of historical reality since Jesus was a monotheist.
Mark and Luke however give us more information.
Mar_9:42-48 LSV 42 and
whoever may cause to stumble one of the little ones believing in Me, better is it for him if a millstone is hanged around his
neck, and he has been cast into the sea. 43 And if your hand may cause you to
stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than
having the two hands, to go away into Gehenna, into the fire—the unquenchable—
44 [[where their worm is not dying, and the fire is not being quenched.]] 45
And if your foot may cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to
enter into life lame, than having the two feet to be cast into Gehenna, into
the fire—the unquenchable— 46 [[where their worm is not dying, and the fire is
not being quenched.]] 47 And if your eye may cause you to stumble, cast it out;
it is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God one-eyed, than having two
eyes, to be cast into the Gehenna of fire— 48 where their worm is not dying,
and the fire is not being quenched;
Mark particularly gives us the parallel with being drowned
in the depths of the sea to avoid causing a little one to stumble.
We see that it is very logically possible for a person to be
executed before they commit a crime against a little one and bear the eternal
weight of guilt that God will bring on them at judgment.
Being executed before committing a crime is considered a positive
profitable contribution to a person's life in contrast to the potential of them
continuing to live and sinning against one of these little ones
Since it is logically possible to prevent someone from
committing a crime by executing them swiftly, so also Jesus tells us that we
should chop off body parts that are making us sin to avoid the exact same pit
of Hell fire.
A hyperbole could be an overstatement, whereas Jesus is not
overstating himself since his somber sober reality of consistent and very clear
logic carries all the way through all of these Illustrative case studies
Hand Chopping
8/10/25
Literally chopping off a hand is despised by superficial cheap shallow fleshly
thinking and blasphemous anti- Bible obedience
But wisdom and Truth obedience embraces the literalness of the hand
chopping because...
It is actually logically valid to sacrifice one body part to save your
whole body
Objects in this life can indeed be a tripping point that scandalizes you
(makes you fall) into sin
Morally and thematically
Literal hand chopping is precisely consistent with the morality of Truth
throughout the whole Bible...
Sacrificing a smaller piece of your body or life for the sake of
avoiding sin is logically and morally valid and consistent with the entire
Bible
Hand shopping is being conceptualized in a very long history of humans
making sacrifices all throughout the Bible to give up one thing to gain
something good and true
Hand chopping has to be taken literally because
it is so practically intertwined with the entire concept of making sacrifices
and the entire concept of avoiding sin
Literal hand chopping cannot be dismissed and swept away as figurative
or hyperbole because it is exactly consistent in a long history of fleeing lust
A pervert and a fool And a shallow-minded Bible disobeyer complains and
says that a hand can't be the issue because it is a sin of the heart and
therefore the heart has to be the real issue and he can't be serious about the
hand, but this is as mindless and ignorant and illiterate and de-educating as
ignoring all the other related commands throughout the Bible and relegating
them to hyperbole even though they're extremely true and practical and morally
excellent, such as...
A pervert and a fool would then have to logically say 'you don't need to
flee lust because it's not the circumstance that's the problem it's your heart'
But when we flee lust we are committing our heart to not sin, and we are
distrusting ourselves to resist sin so that we remove ourselves from the
temptation and solidify faithfulness and anti-sin in our heart in doing so
You don't say that the problem is my heart so I don't need to flee lust!
Proverbs says don't even go down her path!
The inconsistent hypocrisy of the perverted fool who rebels against
scripture to say that hand chopping is not literal because it has to do with
the heart, if they were to be consistent, is logically constrained to say that
the harlots path is not the issue, the person's heart is, therefore you don't
need to take the Bible literally when it says to flee lust or avoid her path
because you just need to deal with your heart, as if you're figurative Bible
disobedience replaces the actual words of God so that you don't have to obey
him because you think you're so spiritual that you avoid the concrete actual
obedience because you think you know what it's all about - "the
heart" and in doing this way you betray your own wickedness and show how
ugly and disgusting your heart really is...
